right, now the exciting subject heading has dragged you in, Dsis and BIL will be staying for a few days over Christmas.
Dsis can't eat meat (fish is ok) so not too restrictive. BIL cannot have dairy, fruit, or specifically citric acid.
So far I've thought of pizza, fish pie, quorn bol/cottage pie jacket potato with baked beans that we can all eat.
I'm sure there are far more, & more interesting fare I can offer them, any suggestions please?

You have my sympathy, used to have to deal with SIL being non dairy/non gluten. Eggs should still be OK for non dairy, how about souffle, or easier option smoked salmon quiche with eggs and rice or soya milk?

Can BIL have tomatoes/onions?

If so, then chana dal (chickpea curry) is my go-to recipe. But ds LOTS of kids I'm sure wouldn't eat it. I'd stick to fish pie, it's such an incredible treat.

A friend of mine is allergic to citric acid. It's a complete pain as it gets put into so many things. Check every label, especially things like commercial jams and white wine.

Ah, this is like my household on a daily basis. I am a pescetarian (eat fish, but not meat), ds1 is allergic to eggs, beans, pulses and nuts, ds2 is allergic to dairy, pulses and nuts.

Oatly milk is a great substitute for cows milk for cooking and oatly cream is great as a substitute for single cream and is not sweetened like many soya creams. I use oatly cream to make mushroom strogonoff for example. Oatly milk and oatly cream are available from tesco and ocado.

I use coconut milk to make vegetable korma.

Tofutti soya cream cheese (from health food stores) is quite good - you don't get the nasty soya aftertaste you get with some non-dairy cream cheese. This does quite a good pasta with veg, tuna and soya cream cheese for something quick and easy.

Potato and leek pie (using oat milk to make the white sauce) with veg is also nice and easy.

Cheeseless cheesecake is easy using tofutti soya cream cheese too if you want ideas for sweet stuff.

Watch some of the quorn products as many have milk in though!

Of course, if you don't want to cook, the easy option with those restrictions is fish and chips Smile.

It's really not so difficult to adapt traditional recipes once you find good substitutes to use, but dairy can be difficult if you don't label check as it is everywhere!

Risotto

Bean chilli

Vege shepherd's pie

Pizza without cheese doesn't sound too great TBH...

Thanks for your suggestions!

orienteerer I am ashamed to say I have never made a souffle, quiche with non dairy milk sounds fab though!

Joan yes BIL can have toms/onions, just checked my list & realised it's missing "no spices" though.

oldmother I suspect we will end up with fish & chips one night! Not heard of oatly milk, will look it up.

tethersend risotto sounds good! I'd forgotten pizza has cheese on.

Oh yeah! A great big vat of vegetable soup and crusty bread will doubtless make an appearance too
