Is Christmas cake supposed to be quite wet??

I've made a cake to the River Cafe recipe, but soaked my fruit for a week in a large splash (1/4 bottle) of brandy as I wanted the fruit juicy.

Its been put away for a week, and when I open it, the surface is quite moist so I haven't fed it.

I think its cooked through (last year was not!) but if a cake looks moist, is it better not to feed?

Thanks

Moist as in 'sticky'? A sticky surface will happen just by putting it in an air-tight tin whereas feeding it gets the moisture through to the centre. Did you test it with a skewer when it was cooking?

Yes I put a toothpick in the centre and it came out clean. Yes its sticky and in an airtight container. It is very heavy too.
