Defrosting sausages?

Just taken a pack of chipolatas out of the freezer - will they defrost in time for dinner? (Which will be around 530 tonight, as I'm going on a rare night out!)

I've left them out on the side, rather than in the fridge - that's alright, isn't it?

TBH I would just cook sausages, I don't wait for them to defrost. I do other things of course & leave them on the side or in fridge depending on how long I've got and how warm a day it is.

You can defrost them in the microwave just before you cook them if they are still a bit frozen.

sausages, especially chipolatas being thin, cook well from frozen. Just add an extra 10 mins to cooking time if doing them in oven (based on cooking them at around 180-200 degrees)

OK - Thanks. Bit of a stupid question, I know, but I'm a worrier Blush.

If you cook them from frozen do you just do them a bit longer then?

MissKitty, first mince and now sausages. You are a worrier! Grin

I have a stash of chipolatas from our butcher in our freezer. I just get 1 out & cook it for DS when required.

I really don't think you need to defrost.

mandoo, I know, I know! Drives DH up the wall Grin.

No need to defrost but cook lower for longer. Mum always cooks then freezes so they're right ready to use, that works perfectly.
