Storing Cooked vegetables in a fridge

First of all,I must admit that I am a Dad and not a Mum-so please be gentle with me.

Every other weekend I pick-up my DS of 10 months from his mothers' house.Due to the time I arrive home,I need to give him his evening meal as soon as I get home.Usually his mothers give me his evening meal for me to take. But I do not want to continue to do this if this is necessary.

I would prefer to cook the vegetablea the evening before and then keep them in a sealed container in a fridge and then 24 hours later blast them in the microwave until they are slightly warm.

Can I do this? I cook the vegetables(mostly spuds, carrot, broccoli, cauliflowe) so they are soft but not mush. Will keeping them in the fridge make them go mushy?

TIA

At the end of the second paragraph I meant to write "not necessary".That is what happens when you try to type in a tram on a smartphone without your 1st espresso of the day!

absolutely fine, just keep them sealed.

Agree that this speed things up when you need to move fast.
