... he does want to bash the spoon in to the bowl. A lot. I know he is a bit young to really start feeding himself but should I just let him try and offer him lots of finger food in the mean time? If so, wha finger food? Up until now he has eaten just about everything offered to him and I'm a bit worried about his diet suddenly becoming a bit limited so would welcome some ideas. TIA.

i give my DD the same that we have as tonite she is having homemade spaghetti bol which she loves sucking the spaghetti in to her mouth, also she is mad on brocolli and fish! its all finger foods.. the only time i have to feed her is when we are out and ive got a jar food (which she cannot feed herself obviously) and yoghurts.

i also give DD her spoon for her brekkie when she have porridge and guide it to her mouth (and not in her hair!!!)

give him his plastic spoon and help him - but beware he can be messy...

dd3 (10months) refuses a spoon most days, atm she is tucking into raisan bread and bananas. she ate peas earlier by picking them up one by one. it can be very messy, but it keeps her happy.
