I will be buying all my fresh veg for x/mas on x/mas eve, but we have family coming over on the 27th Dec, so would the veg last if I stored it in my shed where it is obviously much cooler (will not have enough room in fridge} I dont ever keep fresh veg this long so not sure how long it will last, or am I going to have to put up with frozen veg???

I would certainly think so - especially if it looks good in the first place. I think some supermarkets sell stuff that is well past it's best when you buy it, but there is a much higher turnover at Christmas, so it seems a bit fresher.

I'd think the shed a better idea than a warm kitchen. Luckily we have a cold porch at the back of our kitchen we can store all ours in.

Oh good, it would be a disaster to serve up a belated x/mas dinner with no veg

The shed should be fine, last year we got ours on the 23rd, and it was still really fresh by Boxing Day and we stored it in the shed. Same with the drink, keeps it cool and saves space in the fridge.

Tsk Tsk. It's a mumsnet law that we should all worship at the temple of Lakeland, which means you should already have bought your stay-fresh veg bags.

go for the shed. WE keep ours in baskets on a butchers table in the workshop. It's a brick building just opposite my side door, and veg keeps for ages int here. I have all the salad in there too, and drinks.

Yep! Stayfresh Bags are sooooooooooooo good - They go on for ages - just wash/wipe them out and they are fine. I too worship at the feet of mighty Lakeland...in fact, I used to work for them! - Can you imagine how much I used to spend?!!! - - Also imagine all the naff kitchen products cluttering up me drawers too!! - Since leaving work I saved a fortune!!
