It does not look like hers all delicate and thin, it looks chunky and rustic!

I'm not sure I'm even going to like it now-all those eggs!

Is it going to taste really eggy?

ds will eat it though Grin

I bet it's delicious! Try it and tell us...

SecretNutellaFix · 11/10/2011 19:17

did you have a soggy bottom?

schroeder · 11/10/2011 20:18

It was nice, not too eggy. I might have liked more lemon, but it made dh pull a little face as it is-he is such a wuss.

My pastry shell thing had a crack it it so some of the custard leaked out, but it really didn't seem to matter.

It would not have passed muster on the bake off, but we have already snaffled 3/4 of it.

No soggy bottom. Grin

Tesco's tart au citron is very nice indeed. sounds like a similar recipe tho.

I always use a pre-made pastry shell tho. Even tho I back I don't do pastry.

I used to be a bit scared of pastry too, but I had a word with a pal of mine who is a pastry chef and she just said it's all about practice, you get a feel for it.

I've learned if I use a processor I completely overdo it and it's horrible, so I rub it in by hand and it's much better.

Pastry is so easy, Im a rubbisn cook but I make great pastry, it couldnt be easier.

I can do it I just can't be arsed....and I am not a great pastry lover so don't often cook with it anyway.
