Vegetable stock

Have just started making my own. It's hard work but definitely makes the meals taste much nicer. I know a lot of the flavour/goodness has been boiled out, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with the vegetables afterwards (apart from throwing them away or putting them on compost heap)?

Thanks.

Zap them up in a blender and make soup?
Or have you got a local farm park/petting zoo type place which might take them for the pigs?

I make stock whenever I am boiling vegetables for any recipe, and keep the stock in the freezer until I need it, so the vegetables are never wasted. Some vegetable water makes really good stock even with only one veg, eg corn, broccoli, carrots, but some is not good, eg when I just boil potatoes I thrown the water as it is too bland for use as stock.
