I've just had chicken served to me by my mil and after eating i noticed inside the carcass these little eggs. Has anyone ever seen this before? Is it normal? How come they weren't cleaned out with the rest of the innards? It's made me feel quite queasy Sad

Why is it so gross? I really don't understand this disgust reaction.

camper, it probably wouldn't be as bad normally, but since being pregnant I find a lot of things disgusting. The idea of part of its reproductive organ being inside the chicken at time of cooking is not particularly appetising, imo.

I can't understand how so few of you know about this. I've eaten this loads of times when growing up, it's quite nice. It's quite difficult to get enough to make a whole dish of it I think, so it's a bit of a delicacy. It tastes a little bit like the yolk but not quite, has a floury sort of texture. I've had it only as a curry.

See here. The pic of the raw eggs made me feel quite queasy, but when cooked they are fully opaque.

Mega.....that's fascinating and tmi at the same time. I ALWAYS learn something new on mn. Feel sick tho. And won't be roasting any chicken anytime soon!

megapixels, thanks for the info. You really do learn something new every day, as they say! Still not sure it's something I fancy, but it has put my mind at rest somewhat Smile
