Have made lamb shanks with beans etc in slow cooker the sauce is really thin what can I do to thicken it (would usually use a bit of corn flour but have run out).

plain flour mixed to a paste with water, stirred in and then boiled, or adding over boiled potato.

mix a couple of spoonsful of flour with a teaspoonful of butter to make a paste. take the lamb etc out of the sauce, whisk little pieces of the paste into the sauce while bringing to the boil, simmer for a bit and hey presto! A thicker sauce. You can then put the lamb etc back in and serve.
