Anyone out there who has made cake pops? I've had the book since Christmas and finally tried them tonight. The actual making of the cake into a ball was fine but I found covering them so hard. I use a Wilton candy melt but it was too thick, I did try to thin it with vegetable oil as explained in the Bakerella book but it was still too thick really and I couldn't get the pops to slide off the spoon. I've had a look over the web to try and find other candy coverings as I did find a blog that said Wilton's covering can be thick. It's hard to find a reasonable priced alternative though in the UK. Any advice or ideas. I'd really like to crack this as although they looked messy they tasted lovely.
