How do you toast nuts?`

Hi, feel a bit of a fool because I'm not much of a cook.
Trying to make a greek recipe I found online which tells me to 'toast some nuts' and suggests I do this in a pan. Does this mean 'fry them', or just 'heat them up'. Don't want to waste the nuts - they're pretty expensive these days.
Here's the recipe....

put them in a dry non-stick frying pan (no oil) and heat very gently, keeping them moving all the time.

they don't need extra oil as the heat will release the natural oils in the nuts, and you need to keep them moving as they're really easy to burn, and it'll also help do all sides.

you'll know when they are done, as they will change colour and they will smell divine

Thanks Ironingboardforsurfboard (love the name).

I'm toasting now - and the smell is divine!
Hadn't thought of the natural oils working like that.

thx :)

agree with dry frying, or if the oven's already on for something else, you can put them in a roasting tin.
(but Delia is very firm about setting a timer so they don't burn!)
