I've just made pasta puttanesca based on Nigel Slater's recipe and it took 25min and I was able to sort out the washing and dishwasher while it cooked and it mostly uses store cupboard ingriedients. I don't do much cooking as DH does it so I would like some ideas for other meals that are low effort/quick/really tasty.

Random food fact: Puttanesca means whores pasta. Gives you just enough time for one 'client', then it's done!
My fave superfast tea is steak fajitas. Chop, fry, serve. Larvly.

Quickest and least effort: cook pasta, when cooked, take (and leave) of hob, drain and mix pack of smoked salmon slivers through the pasta (salmon cooks in heat of pasta as the salmon is in small slivers), then mix a small tub of creme fraiche through the pasta. Serve with freshly milled pepper and a nice cold white wine. Very easy, not that expensive (depending which smoked salmon you buy) and very quick.

This is my fail-safe easy quick recipe; takes about 5 mins to prepare, my whole family loves it and I cooked it on holiday in Cornwall for 10 people last week, with clean plates all round.

Boneless chicken thighs (2 per person) - stuff with lump of Boursin, Roule, or other creamy/herby/garlicky cheese, wrap in streaky bacon or parma ham, into oven for 40 mins or so, until lightly browned and bubbling. Can also use chicken breast fillets (just cut a slit for cheese).

Serve with jacket spuds and veg.

4 tbsp of Mayo, 1tbsp mango chutney, one tbsp apricot jam one tsp wholehrain mustard and a dash of lemon juice per person. Mix together, pour over a chicken breast per person and bake at 190 for 1/2 an hour. Serve with rice salad and crusty bread. So delicious and easy and looks impressive from store cupboard ingredients.

chop in half and boil a bag of new potatoes until nearly done - jersey royals are lovely.

Chop an onion, half a big chorizo, a red pepper and saute together in small amount of oil. Drain potatoes and add to the mix, continue to saute for about 10 minutes. Add handful chopped parsley then serve with a poached egg on top. Is lovely for a brunch too.

Easy peasy soft boiled eggs on toast, Nigella style. This is so easy and so tasty. Just put 2 eggs into a pot of boiling water, and leave for 4 or 5 minutes. WHen they're done, put 2 glices of granary bread into the toaster while you run the eggs under a cold tap for 10 or so seconds so you can peel them very carefully. Butter the toast (gotta be Lurpak here) then squish the eggs on top and sprinkle with sea salt. Soooooooooo bloody yum

salmon and stuff:
Cook green beans in salted water. Mix with cherry tomatoes, olives and some fresh basil. Add olive oil, season. Place in baking tray and top with a few anchovy fillets. On other side of the same tray place salmon fillets (seasoned and spinkled with lemon juice and olive oil). Place in hot oven for 10 minutes.
