DP bought a "rough" cut of beef for roast dinner today (we were out yesterday) can I do it in the slow cooker? If so how, and what about my roast spuds and Parsnips - Can they go in to?

yes done a joint in mine - just in some onion gravy was lovely. chucked it in on low I think - it had all day to cook was really nice.

did you put your roast veg in or do that in the oven? Was wondering about liquid?

no I boiled the veg and did the pots as normal - althou I don't see why u wouldn't be able to do veggies in there as well - i've done a caserole b4 in there with vegs (but i'm no good at times and vegs! so they're either hard or too soft!)

Right, I'll pop it on now then, with about 1/2 pint of stock I think, plus some carrots and pots and parsnips, then I'll take the veg out around 5/6ish to roast and they will still have the nice "meaty" flavour they would have had if I was roasting the joint - hopefully!

Do you think the stock needs to cover the meat - I have a HUGE slow cooker!

lol - mine's a big brown one (2L I think not sure u can get a good 6/7 deep bowls of soup when it's full) I put just enough to cover the meat in - althou if u're at home and can check on it try half and then top up if u need it.

roasted veggies - hmmm, haven't tried doing those.
