Quorn used to do and i think they still do make a Chicken style roast, its looks like one of the bernard matthews chicken roll things. Its great you just bung it in the oven and serve like chicken, i like it. its what i will be having

I'd buy a single portion from M&s and serve that she'll be more than grateful and you can always say you did it.

LilacBump · 13/11/2005 10:24

quorn roast! you can give her leftovers for on sandwiches.

katzguk · 13/11/2005 10:24

you can also turn the quorn roast left overs into curry! thats what i do with it!

LilacBump · 13/11/2005 10:25

also, my DP has a hiatus hernia and he has no problem with quorn roast.

Carmenere · 13/11/2005 10:29

I agree with katzguk, the Quorn roast is probably your best option. My dp and dss are veggie and for them last year I made a quorn roast split down the centre and stuffed with a chick pea and apricot stuffing and then wrapped in pastry. It was really delicious and very festive but perhaps a bit too much trouble if there is only one vegetarian for dinner.

You can also do it with the quorn fillets. Just sandwich two of them together with stuffing of your choice and wrap them in bought pastry. Easy and thoughtful, you could score major pionts with your mil

Carmenere thats does sound good, did you defrost the roast first?

Carmenere · 13/11/2005 10:33

Sorry I don't have a specific recipe as I made it up, but it is easy and it does work v well.
