Any idea where I can buy tins suitable for making a cheesecake.Ideally with a loose bottom plate/tray. Don't want to spend much if poss.

I just use a loose-bottomed cake tin (about a fiver in the supermarket last time I bought one)

Thanks chippy. Wasn't sure if that would be too deep (resulting in top part of cheescake sticking to side of cake tin) but if you've used it with success I shall go and buy one.

I have a couple of different sizes, one is fairly shallow, the other is deep as for a rich fruitcake.

I didn't know there was a special cheesecake tin tbh.

I use a springform cake tin I bought in Sainsbo's. You need one at least that deep to make real New York cheesecake that rises about an inch above the lip of the springform while it bakes (like the pictures here). Make a crust that goes all the way up the sides of the tin (with plenty of butter!) and you should have no sticking.

I always use a deep springform tin.
