Yes I would say it was safe, but I don't know what you could do with it. I always used left over roast pork in sandwiches. Could you mince it and make a bolognese type sauce with it? (Uninspired suggestion I know).

gossifer · 08/11/2005 16:45

yes, its safe
a fried rice, with cooked rice 7 any of the following: egg, peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgettes, garlic, peas, sweetcorn, peanuts, chillis, soy sauce etc

compo · 08/11/2005 16:45

You could do a roast dinner with it. Yum yum

same problem here - solution? oven chips and baked beans

ooooooh how nutritious!

flamesparrow · 08/11/2005 16:49

Nooo, don't mince it. It'd all be wasted, and lose its porkiness

I'm fancying pork lots lately, so I'd just have big chunks of it with gravy

sickandtired · 08/11/2005 16:55

heat it up in the gravy do you think?

OP posts:

yes the gravy will heat it up on the plate. Or serve it with a baked potato and salad

Shazzler · 08/11/2005 16:56

I used my left over pork last night in a sweet and sour sauce.

Great Sweet and Sour Sauce:
American measurements sorry:
1 can sprite (7-up fizzy soda)
2 cups sugar
Pineapple syrup left from can
¼ cup ketchup
1 cup vinegar
Cornstarch mixed in cold water first
Chunk pineapple for 8 oz can

METHOD
In a saucepan, add the can of Sprite, 2 cups of sugar and the pineapple syrup. Bring this to a boil. Whisk in ¼ cup ketchup, then mix in one cup of vinegar. Take a small cup of cold water and add about 2 Tbsp cornstarch, mix this up and pour about half of it into the hot mixture to see if this thickens it enough, if not pour more of the cornstarch into it. Add chunk pineapple at the end.
