Leftover porridge: is there anything palatable I can make out of it?

I know in Scotland they'd traditionally slip a slice of cold porridge into the man's pack lunch - but I can't quite see that going down.

However, it looks so wholesome and fresh - and such a shame to just shovel it into the bin!

I'm thinking something flapjacky? Or maybe a soft cookie concoction? bread porridge and butter pudding? I'm presuming it doesn't really reheat?

Either put it in the bin or put it imn the fridge and microwave it tomorrow./

You can incorporate all manner of left overs into bread. I've done it with mash, quinoa and some other healthy stuff no one would eat. Amaranth? Millet? something like that. I imagine porridge would work fine.

Just fridge it and microwave tomorrow- I wouldn't try to cook with it.

My bathroom is looking a bit patchy Grin ...

I've been avoiding reheating, after my friend told me the story of her Guide Camp of Eternal Porridge and Dicky Tummy. Apparently the 'chef' never cleaner the porridge pot, just reheated it every morning and added more oats as needed. Also, I tend to cook for a crowd - so I'd end up having to make more anyway, iyswim.

That oatcakes thing looks the business though... I wonder if it'll taste OK.

Do you think it would work to thicken a stew?

I have a bread maker, but normally use breadmix. Any idea of how much oats/porridge I could sneak in before it ruined the texture? I make oaty muffins, but the proportion is something like 'a spoon of oats for a cup of flour' - so they're not quite as fibrous or wholesome as the description might have lead you to believe.
