Salt Panic...

Hello I am hoping someone can put my mind at rest. I have been making minestrone etc for my 9month DS and just realised the veg bouillon powder I was using as the stock is loaded with salt, I thought that his lunch tasted a bit salty but didn't realise (stupidly) that there was salt in the bouillon Blush and then I gave him beans and cheese for tea.... I have just retreived all of the frozen minestrone from the freezer and am going throw it out ..... what a muppet, am I the only one to have made this mistake (DS now sleeping soundly in bed so hopefully he hasn't had any adverse effects)?!

He'll be fine. As long as his general diet is low in salt, the occasional slightly saltier meal won't harm him.

Don't throw it out, incorporate it in your own food.

Definitely don't throw the minestrone out! Make another batch without the salt. You can freeze it in servings, then defrost two at a time and mix them.

Thank you very much for answering so quickly, it's not in the bin yet and I will add a saltless batch as you suggest MaryMungo I can't believe it, I am trying to be really 'good' and cook all of his food and then I realise that actually in this instance he would have been better off/healthier with the jarred stuff! Oh well we live and learn, thank you again for your replies I don't feel quite so panicked now.
