Ok what can I cook for serious foodie but wheat/sugar/dairy free? Help!

Some friends coming Saturday night for dinner. To put it in context, they (the husband particularly) are amazing cooks - we can't compete, but can't really give them any old rubbish (my usual forte Grin)

Had a great menu planned of beetroot-cured salmon, celeriac & sour cream starter, then pork in beer/apple.

Turns out she is on some diet (due to candida) and can't eat wheat/dairy/sugar - not sure what else it restricts but also not pork.

So any ideas please? I was thinking some kind of spicy/marinated chicken with roast vegetables for main. Would that work?

Nothing that involves sourcing obscure ingredients at this late stage please, just what our local supermarket might have.

Help me pleeeeeaase!!

Tia.

You could still make the same starter but adapt the celeriac cream using soya cream/ silken tofu (doesn't taste as horrible and takes flavours quite wel).
You could also ask if she can eat goats products because if she can they taste a whole lot better.

Spicy chicken could work better with grilled veg and maybe a rice salad made up like tabouleh (obviously no cous cous) but make up a vinagrette, add some finely chopped cucumber, mint etc.

Slow roasted lamb is also another option and could work better with the roast veg idea.

Have you thought about a pudding?

You could have a quick squizz on Tartlette's blog for inspiration - her stuff is often free of - lots if things. And all looks delicious.

Thanks for suggestions. MrsSnow, I am in fact now doing lamb!

Am stumpted for pudding but might just do a really elaborate fruit salad. She can't have sugar, dairy or wheat, so what else does that leave?!
