Help! Chocolate Refrigerator Cake - Rich Tea or Digestives???

I'm in the US, going to watch the Royal Wedding with a group of Americans (party kicking off at 3am) , thought I would make the cake. Rich Tea or Digestives? I can get both over here though they are pricey. Then is it basically raisins and cherries?

Well, I would always use chocolate digestives. I suppose it would work with Rich Tea though. And I wouldn't put the raisins in, as I think it just dilutes the chocolatiness (real word?), although that's just me...

Yes, I have an Annabel Karmel US recipe book that uses Grahams but I don't like them. The shortbread is a good idea. There are going to be 25 people there so it has to be quite big, bigger anyway than the usual 8" square.

Also, do you use evaporated milk?
