seriously need some help. dd has to take packed lunch to nursery 2 days a week. She's not the best lunch eater anyway.... won't eat fruit, not keen on sandwhiches.
Have tried cheese and cucumber - which she will eat, and quorn ham slices - but they give her a bit of a tummy. Also made my own flapjacks which she'll eat, but want more savoury ideas. she is vegetarian by the way.
ideas anyone - please???

Carrot, cucumber and breadstick batons to dip into hoummus or another type dip. Cheese and crackers. Crusty bread and butter. filled croissants with ham and cheese.

my DSs are not keen on sandwiches but do quite like little rolls (for some reason!). DS1 only likes butter with a bit of cheese to eat separately. How about veggie sausage rolls? (noticed Sainsbaury's have started doing them as party food for Xmas) cheese scones?

Would she eat mini french toast (the dried toast variety rather than egg dipped)? My DD will hoover this up, as well as rice cakes & breadsticks. DD likes rice cake sandwiches too - normally two large rice cakes stuck together with peanut butter, soft cheese or vegemite (yuk!!).

Also homemade cheese straws or pitta bread with some cheese and salad in - grated cheese with some salad cream/mayo helps it all stick together. Or mini pizza muffins, those are ok cold too.

Dear bagpussmice, Will the nursery heat up food for you? You could take in a mini frozen cottage pie, a baked potatoe with butter cheese and ham or even a tin of baked beans with bread. My nursery provides hot meals every day, why are they asking you to provide a packed lunch?
