And also are Ocado and Waitrose different companies?

Yes they are different. Ocado are a seperate company but have a contract which means they can supply waitrose foods. Ocado food is kept and packed in a warehouse and then transported to you. Waitrose pack and deliver from the nearest Waitrose supermarket. they each have their own website and both usually offer good discounts (about £15-25) off your first ever shop if you search the net.

Ah I see....

Have had excellent service with sainsbos. Very rare to have substitution and the drivers are lovely.

TaffetasWnakyCoatheadJumpsuit · 17/03/2011 14:42

Sainsbo's. I've tried others - none match their variety, quality and reliability.

saythatagain · 17/03/2011 14:51

I maybe in the minority here, but, fingers crossed, Tesco has never let me down (yet). We've been using them since they started delivering in our area (6ish years). The drivers are all lovely too.

greygirl · 18/03/2011 11:52

i love sainsbos.

i did a party shop from tescos and ordered 48 packs of crisps, 40 odd juice carton, lots of boxes of raisins and 4x12 babybel.
the computer substituted my babybel with 4x6 babybel.Hmm
so i still had to go to the supermarket. i rang up to complain and all they said was 'shouldn't have ticked yes to substitutions'.
so i went back to sainsburys - i like the quality and the drivers are always helpful.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 18/03/2011 11:57

I know everyone moans about tesco, but I have been using the one round here for deliveries for about 4 years, and really can't fault them!
I hardly ever have unusual subs (in fact most times no subs at all), get informed if items have a short-ish use-by date and the drivers are all lovely.

This week I dropped a bottle of wine (sob!) and it smashed all over my kitchen floor as I was unpacking. Entirely my fault, but the lovely driver refunded it anyway Smile

berri · 18/03/2011 12:48

Right, think Sainsburys is marginally in the lead, will try them next!

ASDA have been wonderful for me.

I got a free pack of lamb chops and some belgian chocolate puddings with the last order as the panna cotta and lamb chops I ordered (and they sent) were short dated. They were going to be eaten that night anyway Grin

Meglet · 18/03/2011 12:55

Sainsburys for me.

I used tescos for about a year and they were ok but some daft substitutions (totally different sized nappies anyone?!) and a 2 hour time slot.

Sainburys don't substitute much, maybe 1 or 2 items a week and always for something similar. They also have 1 hour time slots which makes life easier.

berri · 18/03/2011 13:55

Gosh can't believe that about ASDA - I've finally given up on them after using them for 6 times, and them being way outside the 2hr time slot each and every time.

On Pancake Day I was due to get the delivery (yes, including eggs & milk!) between 2pm-4pm, and it turned up at 7.30pm!!!!

Still waiting for an apology, I emailed them on the day and have heard nothing since.

LOL at the nappy substitutions - how useful! :o

Waitrose are the best IME.

Flisspaps · 18/03/2011 17:09

berri They're always either on time, or five minutes early for me! They did send the wrong size nappies once (incorrect pick, not a substitution) but came out that afternoon and swapped them for me.

:)

herecomesthsun · 20/03/2011 12:07

We use waitrose, very happy with them.

BonzoDog · 20/03/2011 12:10

Ocado every time
They are so kind when my cat tries on every delivery to get into their van!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 20/03/2011 12:11

Sainsburys. On the rare occassion that they have cocked up, they have bent over backwards to put it right. Drivers are friendly, too.

pigsinmud · 20/03/2011 12:15

Ocado. I have regular ocado as am on their pay monthly for all deliveries scheme - £3.99 for a month and I can have a delivery a day if I want as long I spend £40.

Sometimes use Sainsburys for bigger shop, but usually have substitutions. Big mess up last week as half delivery was missing. Spent hour on the phone. Eventually decided they'd redeliver and then cancelled at last minute. They turned up the next day with no warning and I wasn't in. Got a refund, but no £10 apology voucher, so i'm sulking!

Ocado have brilliant customer services and rarely get substitutions or items missing.

Politixmum · 21/03/2011 09:39

I use the Co-operative, they don't do an internet list - you have to go into the shop and choose your bits and bobs but then the delivery is free.
