Right DS 2.3 has a new passion for ice lollies, in particular milky moo things!!
So i bought some lolly moulds tonight and was wondering if i can do these myself? A milk ice lolly?

I have no idea, so can someone help!!!

We love making lollies - over the last few summers we have frozen and eaten:

yoghurt
custard
squash
fruit juice
fruit smoothies
milkshake
chocolate mousse
angel delight
hot chocolate
cream

to these we have added:

tinned fruit
fresh fruit
dried fruit
spices esp. cinammon
squirty ice-cream sauce
fruit coulis
honey
syrup
sprinkles
choc chips
meringue
jam
lemon curd

Really anything goes!!

Our fav. last summer was custard and tinned rhubarb with some of the fruit syrup from the tin.

Have fun!

oooo scrummy!!! Can you just put milk straight into the moulds from the fridge and then add some fruit pieces of what not?! Cause he loves bananas and milk lollies lol

I've never done just milk cos it goes a bit watery tasting...but try it with a spoonful of cream stirred in.

Make a thick banana (or whatever fruit you fancy) milkshake (but use full fat milk) and freeze. As Candle said, seriously, anything goes!

When I went to slimming world someone said they froze the muller light yogs. I poured them in lolly moulds and they were really good, and very low in fat and calories.

Same with frubes and other yogurt sachets - a. keeps them happy and b. keeps things cool in their lunch boxes and c. I like to eat them

I might try angel delight. I do have a recipe somewhere for tofu choc lollies. They're not milk lollies buti can try to find it if anyone is interested.

I'm pleased. I got plenty more recipes that fool them into thinking they've struck gold with treats!!

candleshoe · 08/03/2011 22:50

I love that - they think they're eating rubbish but it is full of secret goodness!

boosmummie · 08/03/2011 22:58

Well if there was an evil mummy emoticon it would be applicable to much of my mothering.... My teenagers thank me now as they eat anything thanks to my evil cunning food camouflage. Working the same wickedness with my 2yr old now.

Simple fruit juice ice lollies are nice too. I suppose you could mix some with milk for the calcium. I do love milky moo lollies though. Theyre hard to be beat.
