Planning a meal for a 3 and 5 year old

Hi all, I'm currently studying Child Development as one of my gcse subjects, and as a short study task which counts towards the final % of the grade, I need to plan and cook a meal (lunch) for a 3 and 5 year old. It has to be a cooked meal with a pudding and so I was wondering what sort of things you would recommend that include as many nutrients as possible, while keeping the salt/sugar content down? Thanks for your help :)

Jacket potato with cheese/tuna/beans with crudites(sticks of carrots and cucumber etc) with fresh fruit and yoghurt- its a healthy appetising cheap and easy mean that accomodates all sort of dietary requirements.

cottage/shepherds pie.

Easy to "hide" vegetables in Smile

You can puree sweet potato with the potato etc.

Will 2nd fruit salad with yogurt for pudding.

Hello :)
Pasta is always a winner with my children, and I make a lovely tomato sauce with loads of veggies (aubergine, courgette etc) which can be pureed. Add cheese for calcium, and you could put chopped cooked chicken too perhaps?

For pudding you could do a fruit smoothie and mix it with probiotic yoghurt?

Think a shepherds pie with a sweet potato topping would be excellent. Rice pudding would win marks too due to dairy component.
