I'm starting lunchbox for my kids after half term- any tips on the best supermarket for this?

Asda all the way for me. Obviously asda's own brand. But I'd advise to watch out for their own lunch box style brands - not good in my opinion. The name (think's it's good for you but can't remember) suggests all the packed lunch things are healthy eg yogurts, bars, crisps, juice drinks etc, but if you read the labels they contain all kinds of artificial sweetners etc which I'm not keen on mine eating too much of.

They sell really small containers in packs of 2. I've got loads of these and instead of buying small portions of raisins, I buy a big cheap bag from the homebaking isle, and also the big bag of cheap apricots and put them in the containers. You can get really cheap packs of fresh orange juice. I also get two big bags of the cheap cashew nuts and they have some of them each day.

Also their own brand rice krispies and some cheap cooking chocolate to make krispie cakes instead of buying alternatives to penguins or chocolate bars/ cake bars. Aldi do a Seed and Fruit Mix for 99p/£1.00 - I mix these in with the chocolate and rice krispies to make them a bit healthier plus it's the only way they'll eat sunflower seeds.

I sound interesting, don't I!
Wink
I'm off to get myself a life now!

Not in the UK, but my DD takes a packed lunch. As she is a fruit/veg refuser, I freeze a small carton of juice and she takes that. It not only keeps her lunch cool, but has melted to a slushy like consistency by lunch time.
YY to small containers. I often make her a jelly from two cubes, she loves that.
Are yours allowed to take warm drinks and soups. If they are, flasks are brilliant. They don't have to be scalding hot and DD adores the days when I send some hot choc in.

thanks! I actually live between a Tesco and Sainsbury's - any thoughts on what they have to offer?

Pretty much the same but for more money! The supermarkets all pretty much do the same, I think, the difference is the price IMO.
