If it smelt and tasted OK I would. I'm thinking of making some rice crispie cakes with cereals of a similar vintage [bgrin]

oh god but I don't want to taste it

it's Ready Brek fgs

can I test it on a child? Grin

Bad mummy! [bgrin]

It's quite good for filling in cracks round the skirting boards.

Flour bugs? Have you looked closely at it? Grin

what does a flour bug look like?

I bet it looks like a flake of Ready Brek, right?

are they destroyed by microwaving?

I found an opened box of ready brek in the cupboard when we were moving that was well over 2 (ahem) years old. I ate it and lived - although it did taste a bit fusty but then ready brek always does. My dh thinks its made from the scrapings from the porridge factory floor.

get the kettle on

werewolf · 26/01/2011 09:35

Is the cereal moving?

Anonymousbird · 26/01/2011 09:37

Absolutely yes.
In fact, we have done in the past.

Flour bugs are small and black and pretty mobile. I'd look carefully at the top of the Ready Brek and the inside of the carton to see if there are any before using it.
