My daughter is nearly one and i usually do her one weetabix with full fat milk. However, some mornings she reaches as if she wants more when it has all gone. Just wondered what other people do for breakfast as i feel two weetabix is too much surely??

break 1 in half and offer 1 1/2 weetabix or give some toast alongside.

Add some banana on top of it?

Slices of banana or a small pot of fromage frais to go with the weetabix.
Half an english muffin or crumpet.

Always understood children under 2 years regulate the amounts that they eat naturally (it's as we get older and greedy for the good stuff that we don't know when to stop Grin )

My DD (22 months) has weetabix for breakfast most days, sometimes eats 2, sometimes struggles to finish a half! She had a nasty tummy bug age about 13 months, and would eat 3 for a few days after she got better!

I suppose my take on it is if they're not hungry, they refuse, if they're hungry they ask for more. As long as what you're giving is healthy, nutritionally balanced food, I say go for it!

She may be working up to a growth spurt Wink

Waitrose sell mini weetbix ( the plain ones without the added chocolate etc ), if you are worried about the mess breaking up a whole large one makes

My 2 year old eats 2 weetabiix, one banana and some of my toast every day! He has a huge appetite in the mornings. He then doesnt eat much for lunch though, and even less at dinner :( I am sure he balances it all out though as he is slim fit & healthy!

I'd agree and let her have as much as she wants, maybe make 1 1/2 and see how she fairs? My two have always had never-ending breakfasts ie from when they get up until 11 they seem to be permanently eating. A fair example from when they were one was:

cereal or porridge
piece of toast
yoghurt

15 mins later

piece of fruit
dried fruit

30 mins later

pitta pocket with marmite and peanut butter or peanut butter and mashed banana

if I was lucky, they'd then stop. I think it depends on the day. Sometimes they don't eat much supper as they are too tired, then they sort of make up for it in the morning. Particularly if you've night-weaned and they are truly running on empty!

Thank you I think I just worry that I am either feeding too much or not enough! Think I will offer some fruit after her weetabix as she loves banana :)
