DS (3) has had a nasty cough for a week now and hasn't eaten for that time either. He is surviving on diluted juice and bananas. Even biscuits (strictly rationned here and therefore usually the best thing ever) have been nibbled and then abandoned.

Pasta (always a favourite) wasn't eaten nor fish fingers, roast chicken, sandwiches (even after requested), etc.

He isn't that ill (GP confirmed his chest is fine) but he is waking 3x a night now and I'm sure it's because he's hungry. Also, he isn't fighting off this cough and is very lacklustre.

So... recommendations please.

Mash is always a comfort food in our house. My Grandpa always used to grate cheese into milk and heat and put it on toast when we were ill. Sounds yuk but it is yum.

What about mashed bananas, with honey, ricotted and raisins. This is one thing my dd would eat when she had Glandular fever.

Eggy bread, dippy eggs maybe. When dd had gf and wasnt eating, I was glad if she ate anything and balance and nutrition went out of the window. Good luck

My DS is teething bless him and has had an awful cold and cough at the same time so was off his food. Hes survived on bananas, soup and yogurt. Wouldnt even eat weetabix at breakfast and thats his favourite! Scrambled egg or omlette?I used to love that when I was ill!I could do with one now actually

how about some nice smoothies... plenty of milk, bananas etc...
once he has got something in his tummy he might feel a bit more like eating
