Crock-Pot advice

Got a Crock-Pot nad thought I would give it a go today. But it Burnt a bit round the top edge.

Wonder what I am doing wrong??

It is the big huge 6'5lt one, so wondering if there wasn't enough in pot, normal 4 portion chicken casserole. On high for 5hrs.

But I know you don't have to cover it all with liquid so ????

Any other tips on slow cookers or Crock-Pots most welcome.

I always cook on low.
Do not add much liquid, as no evaporation.
I have never had anything burn.
Mine too is a huge one.

I have a 6.5l one too and i find on high you can get a casserole done in 3-4 hours

I tend to use that setting for stuff shoved in at lunchtime, otherwise on low if you have more time.

Maybe I need to stick to low for stuff like that then, only had 5 hrs max so wasn't sure if that would be enough on low.

The "Crock-Pot" slow cooker cooks really really hot much hotter than any of my other ones. Low should be high enough ....

Ah right so would five hrs on low be Ok for a chicken casserole??

Yes - low on these still bubbles away Grin
