Just wondering what you would recommend?

I have the Annabel Karmel one and wondered what your favourites were?

I have loads of family cookery books, am thinking more about very young children so no added salt etc.

Thanks

I like the Netmums one (am I allowed to say that here?). I also like the Good Food 101 recipes for kids - here -

Good Food book

I also use Fay Ripley's book a lot.

I have 2 DC, one aged 3 and one not yet 1, and we usually eat together. I tend to just modify what we normally eat, cutting down salt etc where necessary. I must admit though, it's easier to share meals with the baby than the fussy toddler!!

Sorry just realized you wanted Annabel Karmel type books. I hate hers, for some reason. I find she over-complicates them. I do have some of hers and use for ideas and then use other people's recipes mainly.

The Fay one I recommended is great for making suggestions for babies/small toddlers.

The others are I guess aimed at older kids but they work if you adapt a little where necessary, and are much more what I would want to eat than some specifically baby-focused books....

I recently bought AK top 100 finger foods, but I don't recommend it as it's full of fried foods and shop bought pastry is listed in lots of recipes ( so easy to make your own) because it's aimed at babies and toddlers it should be healthier.

I also like the netmums cookbook.

I like this book which contains loads of unfussy, everyday recipes, great for babies & toddlers and children too.

I also think the dinner lady books are quite good & also contain lots of info on healthy eating for children. Mainly the first one but also the second one too.

Lots of the recipes in both books are suitable for the whole family, you just add salt to your portion etc.

Love following recommendations and then seeing how different we all are! Fay's book opens with Posh scrambled egg on toast - which includes 4 tsps of caviar. Sorry but my toddler will have to make do with ketchup. Wink

I like this book by Mark Hix, though I admit I have not tried the crispy pigs' tails (though I was reading little House in the Big Woods last week with the DC, and roast pig's tails were Laura and Mary's favourite bit of the whole pig so maybe he's on to something).

I also quite like the Netmums book, though mostly, I just cook from 'normal' cookbooks and reduce the amount of salt added.

Wouldn't recommend Tana Ramsay. I got a couple of them and I don't think I ever made anything from them. They went to the bookstall at the Xmas Fair this year.

Has anyone used the River Cottage Family Cookbook? I keep looking at it and then not buying it
