Christmas pie - cold or reheated?

I made and froze the BBC Good Food Christmas Pie a few weeks ago and have now defrosted it ready for lunch tomorrow. We are also having ham which is currently cooking (in ginger beer and tangerine zest, also a BBC Good Food recipe), plus red cabbage and baked potatoes.

Am now wondering if this is a weird mix of hot and cold food. I was planning to serve the ham and pie cold, red cabbage warm and potatoes straight from the oven. Is this weird or OK Confused ?

To make matters worse, I'm also going to do a green salad for those who don't like red cabbage.

I could warm the pie up, altho' I usually do serve it cold and am not sure how to warm it through properly. And I could also serve the ham hot if I glaze and roast it straight before serving.

I make this every year and I prefer it cold.....

Your lunch all sounds lovely.

Thanks Pinner. I think all the individual components are lovely, but am having a loss of confidence in the overall effect Grin

I also do it every year. I love it, altho' lining the tin was a real pain this year - my pastry just kept falling apart... Know it will taste nice tho'.

I'm sure it'll all be fab......if your guests are anything like ours, they'll just be pleased that you've made the effort and they're not having to cook.

I hear rustic, patched up pastry is in vogue this season Grin. Enjoy your lunch.

Good news on the pastry front, cos that's exactly what mine looks like Smile
