I have a ball of pastry left - about the size of a scotch egg, any ideas what I can do with it? Confused

I didn't notice .... i have had a Baileys Grin

I meant to say make it flat btw like a gingerbreadman - rather than two proper balls.

Roll it out , put on a layer of mincemeat or jam /chocolate spread etc .roll up and cut into slices . Makes lovely bite sized nibbly rounds.

a jam turnover

CupcakesHay · 20/12/2010 18:09

Jam tarts - def. So easy to make. Or make cheese straws - only if it's not sweet. if it's sweet, grate chocolate and mik and make choc straws.

everyone knows you have to give it to the children to make a pasty "gift" for father christmas - that's what my two always do! LOL

I was imagining a Tesco scotch egg sized bit of pastry. If we're talking Deli scotch egg sized then yes - cheese straws!

Portyblack - im glad you came back & said to do it flat, I was imagining doing it the other way haha!
I really wish I had some chocolate spread - that sounds yummy Xmas Sad
Think Ill go with the cheese straws - do I just grate cheese & mix it in?
Thanks for replies Xmas Smile

In our house any left over pastry is used to make Laughing Fanny (no idea where the name came from Blush). Roll it out, add currants and sugar, fold in half and roll out again - bake and eat smothered in butter. Often nicer than the dish the pastry was actually made for!
