i think the odd plain biccie is ok. otherwise how about fruit dried and fresh, nuts if she is old enough (think I started DD1 about that age with nuts), oat crackers, cheese, I think plain chocolate is supposed to be ok wrt teeth anyway

too tired to think of more but am sure someone else will have more ideas

good luck with it

I've never given my kids biscuits.I think they're junk. Would rather do them a cheese s/wich.

Organix do animal shaped biscuits which contain organic wheat flour(62%), organic grape juice concentrate(28%) and organic unhydrogenated palm oil(10%). also 1% of raising agent(sodium bicarbonate).

Misdee, DS would take your hand off for one of those He cuddles them

My DD has the odd biccie...as do I but I rarely buy them, she tends to have them at Toddlers or grandparents houses as ttreats......however, you could try making them yourself....she would love helping you and some can keep for ages in airtight container. Homemade don't contain all the crap in shop bought ones and you know what's in them! You could add dried fruit and seeds to them too. Think I got a good recipe for soft cookies from bbc website. Or make some that you can cut into different shapes.

Make your own museli bars. I make them every week and we all have them finished in a few days.
5oz wholemeal flour
5oz medium oatmeal
4oz raisins
4oz chopped nuts
2oz wheatgerm
2 tblspoons fructose
3 tblspoons molasses
1 tblspoon linseeds
6oz warm water
3oz sunflower oil
pinch of ground cinnamon
Put everything in a bowl and mix well. Put in a well oiled fairly shallow tray and flatten so they are about 1 cm thick . Bake for 20 mins at about 160 degrees or until they are slightly browned and the raisins have gone puffy!! ....Yum
Otherwise try corncrackers,
rice cakes with cashew or almond butter. Oatcakes
Lucy Burney does a great recipe for banana cake and carrot and apple muffins in her 'Optimum nutrition for babies and toddlers'

wouldn't bother with (shop bought) biscuits. What about special fruit ? strawberries are yummy at the moment, clementines, kiwis etc.

The organix ones are nice as a cupboard standy, but we always forget them & they go soft. What about the organix goodie bars ?

I might try those museli bars...they sound good.

Also, rather than a treat for eating meals, making homemade fairy cakes is good fun - can use raisins in them, or make mini muffins - Can also make homemade oaty cookies.

I make my own flapjacks, muesli bars, muffins (which DD calls 'cakes') and biscuits. She gets one a day or so as a snack. About once a week I'll do brownies and she'll have one for dessert w/creme fraiche.

Try adding in dried fruit or even a bag of frozen fruit (thawed) to your home-baking.

I also bake w/Omega 3 eggs.

Spead plain biscuits with fresh fruit preserves or peanut butter. Muesli bars and flapjacks served up w/yogurt w/fruit mixed in.

Also banana boats for a treat - just slice the banana lengthwise - but not all the way thru - stuff w/choccie buttons, wrap loosely w/foil and bake until the chocolate melts and goes all gooey. Mix in creme fraiche for added calcium and protein.

hi , thanks for all the great advice !

The reason i was giving buiscuts was because my dd has refused fruit of any kind and cakes! ive done the homemade buiscuts but hasnt worked up to now . my dd has a nut allergy also so am limited ! .

The change in diet is gradually working she is starting to touch the foods i offer her (as she is starving i think) got to be strong as she is underweight and i want her to have normal eating habits as she grows up .

Mine have organix animal bics or organix gingerbread men. Organix also do apple rice cakes that are yummy (even I nosh on those!). They also have the odd Rich Tea or malted milk ('cow biscuits'!). I don't think that will kill them!
