M & S Baby and Toddler meal planner is good.

Any book by Lucy Burney
'Boost your childs immune system '
'Optimum nutrition for babies and children'
The latter has over 150 recipes for 1 year olds , all healthy good stuff. My fav food guru. Excellent!!!

I'e just got Lorraine Kelly's Toddler book, in paper back from Amazon quite cheap. I've only had it a few days and made 3 of the meals already. Easy to follow, tells you preparation times, how long it can keep in the fridge etc.
My friend is very pleased with the Gina Ford one.
I also agree with Passionflower, the M&S one is pretty good too.

I've been using Finger Food by Jennie Maizels. I tend to do a batch of several recipes at the weekend every 6 weeks or so when dh can distract ds. My favourite is the fish cake recipe which I make for all of us when I'm doing a batch.

are any of them adult friendly too?

Sara Lewis, "The Baby and Toddler Cookbook and Meal Planner". Really easy recipies, most of which were put all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer. I was so not a cook when I weaned dd but she wolfed down everything I made much to my amazement, and turned her nose up at jars.

I'm so anti authority that I could not read Gina Fords contendly little baby book - but her baby / toddler recipe book is excellent. It has really nice picture as well - which is the downside of Annabel Karmel - which I have as well. The recipes are excellent in there although.

I second the finger food book bran recommends. It is awesome!

mckenzie · 29/09/2005 09:35

I've use recipes from all of them to make family meals, just increase the quantities where necessary although some of them are actually quoted as family recipies.

I swear by Nigellas how to Eat, a great adult recipe book with a simple but good kids bit at the back.

jamiesam · 29/09/2005 09:37

Second the m & s baby and toddler meal planner - by nicola graimes who has also written 'great healthy food for vegetarian kids' - ds's and dh love most of the recipes I've done from those.

There is another book by Lucy Burney called 'Immunity foods for healthy children' which also includes recipes for breastfeeding mothers,( great ginger cake recipe )as well as 0 to 18yr olds . She also suggests recipes for various ailments, ear infections, colds etc.
Two others I use a lot are 'Organic baby and toddler foods' by Amanda Grant and Lizzie Vanns 'Baby and toddler cookbook'

Gina Ford has a new cookbook out which is fab. Also quite like the dinner lady one. Will be checking out Lucy Burney myself, looks interesting.

Agree Organix one is nice - easy recipes & colour pictures

as said before annabell karmelss complete baby and toddler meal planner has to be one of the best... Saying that annabell karnell has alot of VERY good cook books aimed at children, not just THAT one!

but a 1 year olds can eat pretty much anything, so just look at any recipie books

(as long as its not overly spicy / full of nuts etc!)

MarsLady · 02/10/2005 15:36

I love my Annabel Karmel book!

weesaidie · 02/10/2005 16:34

I have Annabel Karmel but to be honest I use the dinner lady more as I am happy to eat her recipes too! Just love that book. My dd is 18 months.
