hi, need to entertain dd tomorrow, as dh is working.

Any recommendations for baking recipes that are fun to make? She tends to get bored unless she can eat as we go along!

21 months!

Yo u make fairy cakes, dd watch dvd.
You bake fairy cakes, dd licks bowl.
dd drizzles on glace icing and sticks half cherry on top.

That would be about all I could cope with.

What about something with animal cutters? Always goes down a treat here! Or numbers:

cheese biscuits

Or you could make some biscuits that require more rolling and squidging:

Play Doh biscuits

There are a few other toddler friendly bits on my blog - can you tell it's been a bit cold recently?! My poor son may well be fed up of baking now. ;-)

Just saw the 'eat as you go along' bit of your post - sorry, I am sleep deprived.

Maybe play doh biscuits as they're very very quick - and keep some choc chips on standby to pop into the mix and let her snaffle as you do?

pizza

Oh, and my son ate a lot of the cheese as we baked the cheese biscuits come to think of it!

Just a basic short biscuit recipe and let her go at half the mix with some cutters - you do the rest, so you actually have something edible to try later.

Can also ice them then let her decorate with some sprinkles/smarties/jelly tots etc.

melt dairy Milk, stir in rice krispies, spoon into cases and bung sweeties on top.

lovely ideas thanks! We made mini quiches in the end, which was a roaring success, mainly due to dd being able to sprinkle flour liberally around the kitchen/dining room.
