Can I use duck fat instead of goose fat for roast pots?

That pretty much says it all, just cannot get goose fat in Canada but can get duck fat in butchers. Will it be pretty much the same?

TIA!

yes. Perhaps even better. (DH likes to save duck fat when we roast a duck and uses it for potatoes at a later date)

Will it get hot enough to make nice pots tho? Hopefully someone who knows will be along to confirm. :)

of course you can.

MakemineaGandT · 08/12/2010 21:14

Of course.

Always save your duck fat for this purpose.

Thanks Monty :)

Oh yes definitely! Made roasties on Sunday with Duck fat yum yum! Xmas Grin

The fat gets as hot goose fat so no probs there.
