Help, how much cake mixture for a 9" tin?

Hello all, my recipe is for a victoria sponge cake, using two 7" inch tins ( with 2 eggs and 100g of flour). I need a bigger cake and have got two 9" inch tins...my maths is awful, how many eggs, do I need? Should I double the recipe?
I have to cook it this morning, birthday cake for brother. Thanks.

I would use 5 eggs 10oz flour, caster sugar, butter... should be enough, if its too much make fairy cakes out of the left overs Smile

Thanks Xmasfairy, but how will I know if it's enough/too much? The tins are quite high, and I guess I would just fill them with the whole lot!

I would put mixture in to about half way up the cake tins. So that there is room for the cake to rise but not spill over the sides.

If its not enough, just make up a 1 egg mix.

It's in the oven now....fingers crossed.

How did it go?

It was great, I really impressed myself!! Grin It was light and just the right moistness (is that a word?). So 5 eggs was a good amount. We had it filled with mascarpone mixed with icing sugar and tinned cherries, and melted choc on top, yummy. My dd and niece put loads of candles on - my brother is 40 but I think about 17 candles got squeezed on the top. Thanks Xmasfairy.
