Please help! My dh and I work shifts. Last thing I need is to cook at 9pm, especially if I'm on an early shift and fancy my tea at 5pm! Feel like im just chucking frozen crap in the oven and its making me sad!! I love cooking and am thinking of buying a shed load of Tupperware, and just spend my next two days off cooking and filling up my freezer with homemade delights! Problem is im not sure what I can freeze safely (duh!) can I cook sausage casserole, chilli con carne, home made soups and pesto's ect and them taste ok and not make anyone poorly? Any good freezer recipes are very welcome!

(Feel like I need to point out that not had a freezer long. I understand making home made frozen meals isn't revolutionary for most people! Thanks x)

just bumping for you as I too would love some more freezer recipes. I'm guessing you aredy do bolognaise and lasange? Shep pie and fish pie too.

I use a similar base for chilli, bolognese etc. (I just vary it a bit, e.g add chilli for chilli, or extra veg and put mash on the top for shepherd's pie)

I love macaroni cheese and it freezes well.

There is a recipe section on here, you can tick your requirements (i.e. tick the box for freezable meals)

If you can afford it, M&S do a "Just Cook" range which is easy to shove in the oven but not rubbish.

Also very simple snack type dinners are nice. e.g. I might do wedges, fried eggs and peas, or toasties.

also curries freeze well. If you are worried about reheating rice (some people think it is risky) then buy some frozen rice to heat in microwave.

Almost everything is safe to freeze; whether it's nice is another matter...
The usual chilli/ curry/ casserole suspects are all great.
I regularly freeze kedgeree (my DC love it), so IME, rice is fine. Roast meat freezes well if you do it in gravy. Homemade pizza works well; or freeze the pizza base and topping separately (a basic tomato sauce which you can also use for pasta: I freeze it in little tupperwares, so can get out small portions for kiddie pizzas)
Puddings also freeze well (except unwhipped cream and custard). I cook almost nothing "fresh" (as in, when I get in from work), a combination of slow cooker and home made frezzer ready meals gets us through every week.
