dunked into milk, not tea! (though he loves a nice cuppa Grin)

JustKeepSparkling · 08/11/2010 19:42

Thanks - i may try out the micro-real-porridge option now :)

MrsOliverCarminowe · 08/11/2010 19:48

looks like we are in a minority with eggs & bacon.... DC also have cereal - oatabix or porridge

Smash09 · 08/11/2010 19:54

On weekdays it's almost always porridge or cereal but in summer we do bircher muesli instead of porridge.
On weekends I try and make an effort and do eggs or pancakes or a fry up Wink

Bacon or sausage sandwiches are always nice too...

alicatte · 08/11/2010 19:56

First of all I know I am a bad mother

My youngest has a latte and some rice crackers - sometimes a satsuma or orange as well.

He says he can't eat any more.

muggglewump · 08/11/2010 20:00

Cereal-sweet crap always, about two spoonfulls.

sfxmum · 08/11/2010 20:03

porridge with fruit
yoghurt and fruit
fruit and toast
home made breakfast muffin with milk
toast and eggs
any combination
sometimes will eat all sometimes will just nibble

alicatte · 08/11/2010 20:06

My oldest used to ask for coco pops - again I gave in.

I feel so inadequate.

mousymouse · 08/11/2010 20:09

cereals or bread with jam or a slice of buttered raisin bread

lostinafrica · 08/11/2010 20:10

Porridge with fruit is way nicer than without. I had to throw a handful of raisins in to convince myself to finish my bowlful the other morning.

The dds like it with cinnamon, which was an accidental discovery - they couldn't wait for the stewed apple I was cooking to go with it!

BlooKangaWonders · 08/11/2010 20:10

bacon sandwiches or scrambled eggs (with smoked salmon sometimes!)

Toast

Cereal with hot milk

Fruit (with squirty cream if I'm feeling generous)

MakemineaGandT · 08/11/2010 20:12

Porridge here - made with half milk/half water, some sultanas stirred in at the end and banana sliced over the top. (I have this too)

Sometimes dippy eggs

Sometimes a cinnamon and raisin bagel with a glass of milk

Trying to get away from Cheerios, esp. in the winter....

Ekka · 08/11/2010 20:13

Usually cereal - weetabix is current favourite, or dairy and egg-free american pancakes (ds has allergies) or toast, or some nice crusty bread rolls (the part-cooked type you bake in the oven).

We used to do things like scrambled eggs/yoghurts and fruit, but its more difficult now ds wants what dd has.....

I make up the dry pancake mix the night before then just add the oatmilk in the morning - so its as fast and simple as a packet mix......

EdgarAirbombPoe · 08/11/2010 20:14

the DCs have porridge with all-bran and bananas.

I have coffee.

lisianthus · 08/11/2010 20:14

Porridge cooked with milk and nutmeg, toast and vegemite, a banana and some other fruit, whatever we have.

Am very impressed by those of you knocking together a full English inc sausages - you mist be incredibly organised or get up at the pre-Fimble crack of dawn. Envy

GoldenHaze · 08/11/2010 20:14

Porride made withKara milk, with a few pumpkin seeds mixed in.

Followed by satsuma.

Cup of water.

DD has this every day. Sometimes I'll replace the pumpkin seeds with flaked almonds in the porridge.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 08/11/2010 20:15

Depends how much time we have!

Stopped doing cereal, as they never eat it all (usually half if I'm lucky), spill it everywhere and then still want toast too.

bagels and cream cheese

Pancakes (reheated- cheat!) and maple syrup

croissants/ pain au chocolat Blush- in my defence, they can be relied upon to eat them quickly, and if they don't they can eat them on the way to the school bus (unlike cereal etc)

Cooked breakfasts at weekends (they all want something different!)

knickers0nMyHead · 08/11/2010 20:16

Chocolate or honey ready brek, Shreddies, wheatabix, 'something' on toast, pancakes, egg/bacon sandwich. Eggy bread, scrambled egg/omlette.

Pancake mix in fridge now ready for the morning.

asdx2 · 08/11/2010 20:18

Pancakes, beans on toast, sausage sandwich, omelette, bacon and poached eggs, eggy bread.
Always something cooked as it's the time of day she eats the most tbh.

wubblybubbly · 08/11/2010 20:21

Eggy bread, or french toast if you're posh.

Granola and yoghurt.

Porridge.

Scrambled eggs and toast.

Toast and marmite.

Toast and peanut butter.

Not all on the same day though, obviously Grin

snala · 08/11/2010 20:30

Porridge.

Yogurt.

Fruit.

Eggs on toast (any way).

Toast.

Cereal.

Hot oat cereal.

DS (9) - Weetabix, cocopops, brioche, cheese and apple, toast and marmite,

DD (11) - hates breakfast, can't eat until about 9am by which time it's too late on a school day (she gets this from me). Now I have decided to pick my battles, give her a drink of blackcurrant and a digestive biscuit and a bit more in her lunch box.

I used to cajole and insist and hope she was just been fussy but she just doesn't like eating early on. At the weekend, at about 9.30 she loves a couple of slice of eggy bread.

pointydog · 08/11/2010 20:33

dd2 is fond of a boiled egg.

dd1 likes bellvita biscuits and Nature Valley bars Hmm
