What do you have for lunch?

Right, I need ideas please. I'm really bored of the lunches we've been having.

I'm providing for DD who is 2.2, myself and my 6 month old triplet boys (but i'm not fussed about catering specifically for them although ideally in a few months we'll all be eating the same thing). Obviously DH is around at the weekend.

DD is a pretty good eater and i'm keen for her to have a really wide variety of food. At the moment we've been having stuffed pitta, bagels, soup, sandwiches etc. Too bread based at times. It has to be pretty quick to prepare.
Any thoughts?

yy to eggs

dippy with soldiers or veg soldiers eg carrots
omelette
frittata
poached with toast

soup can be as varied as you like - different textures eg blended/unblended, rich/creamy/brothlike with meat or dumplings or croutons etc - make in vats and freeze so you only have the work once

maximum respect to you op. [hgrin]

My hat off to you, lady...!

Our DTs like Eggs Florentine (protein, folic acid), tomato or butternut squash soup, often beef or venison casserole with onions, carrots etc, served with sweet potato mash,(make a lot and freeze portions for the boys), black pudding(iron);
homemade fish cakes with sweet potato and smoked salmon (I do a large bowl of fish cake mix and freeze in couple of portions so only have to form the patties and pop in the oven when needed).

One of the easiest, best and terribly nutritious lunches for DTs around 6mo was banana, greek yogurt and avocado mash. Sounds yuck but tastes really good and the boys loved it.

Did an omelette today and it went down well. Eggs florentine and fishcakes - good idea.
I thought of quesadillas as well....

I'd quite like to have some hot lunches as well especially with the cold weather so casserole is a good plan.
I must try the banana combo too. Two of my boys are really good eaters even though we've I only started weaning a week ago and the third is definitely not keen but I guess he'll catch on in time. I feel considerably more relaxed about it this time round or it might be more to do with the fact that I have less time to stress about what they're eating or not eating!
