I have bought a 6litre slow cooker today....is it ok to only half fill it when I don't need such a big meal ?

It was a toss up between the 6litre one and the 3.5 litre one - went over to get a leg of lamb joint (It came from tesco) to see if I could get it in the small one and it wouldn't fit so that sort of made my decision but then realised that perhaps the cooker wouldn't be so useful for everyday casseroles......it does have a low medium and high setting...

Fine! Or you could just freeze the excess and then have whole weeks withoug having to cook anything Grin. I do this when dh is away.

Is fine. One day you will be glad you got the bigger one.

I bought one today as well! Just came on here to find ideas on things to put in it!

Am also worried about having a large size one when I might not always want to cook loads and freeze stuff...if I put in a normal amount just to feed four do I need to adjust cooking time?

One of the ladies at work today told me she had a big one - just half fill it and you should be ok. DS has just had some of the lovely slow cooked lamb I did last night and....My tummy is rumbling at the thought.....
