Is this sunday dinner too boring?

I've finally made a long overdue dinner invitation to inlaws and S/BIL.

Will be cooking for 6 adults and 3 under 4s tomorrow.

Originally planned a seasonal delight of my Mum's delicious stuffed marrow recipe but have discovered inlaws don't like marrow!

Have now got a jointed chicken and 4 extra breast on the bone portions.

Was planning to roast them and serve with roasted veg. Have also got loads of sweet potatoes which could be roasted as chips / wedges.

Am concerned it might seem a bit lacking in effort.

Would appreciate a general consensus on whether this seems simple but hearty fare or should I pull my finger out and do a more-hard-work-required accompaniment such as Dauphinoise potatoes or some such?

Opinions / suggestions would be gratefully received Smile

Sounds great. Don't try to reinvent wheel. Sunday dinner should be simple.

Enjoy x

Thanks folks, traditional roast it is then.

Think I'm just feeling guilty for having taken so long to have them all over for food.

Maybe next time I'll do 4 course cordon bleu Grin

I am sure it will be lovely. Lots of red wine needed with Sunday dinner and I am sure they will forgive you for taking so long with the invite.

Gosh, good point missmoopy, am 34 weeks pg and hadn't considered wine, lack of booze really would be the ultimate snub Blush

Will ensure lavish quantity of quality vino is available to accompany boring roast, thanks!
