Am up quite a lot in the night with newborn dd2 & as usual bfing is making me ravenous. Currently eating hob nobs & galaxy to keep hunger at bay, but that has to stop v soon! Anyone got any healthier snack ideas that I can keep on my bedside table for night feeds?

Congratulations Bumper, I didn't realise you'd had the baby! :)

These are really good and reasonably healthyish.

I had

Bananas
Tubs of flapjacks from m&s (ok, and some choc rolls too)
Muesli bars
Bottles of water, v important to keep your fluids up, this made a massive difference to how tired I felt the next day

Fruit bowl and a big jug of iced water
Crackers/oatcakes

Prep the fruit ahead if you have time eg melon and pineapple cubes, to stop you getting in an apple/banana rut....

Peanut butter sandwiches - you could make a lunchbox in your 'spare time' (ho ho).

All fab ideas thanks (except peanut butter yuk!). If I had the time or energy to bake I wouldn't mind, I could make lots of healthyish treats, but need easy stuff. Flapjacks are good, oats are good for breastmilk I think. Got to be a bit healthier than galaxy!

Dried apricots are good and portable, I used to have a small tupperware full in my handbag at all times and one by the bed as well. I think they have a lot of iron or something else good for you post-baby as well... obviously nothing that boosts your short term memory though or I would be able to remember it :)

I used to do oatcakes with philadelphia or boursin cheese on, and a glass of OJ, that hit the spot!
