Nigella's Peanut Butter Cheesecake

I was watching Nigella make a gorgeous cheesecake last night, have found the recipe but she was using a red silicone cake pan. Has anyone used one that big before - I've used them for individual cakes but nothing that size. Lots out there on google, just wondering if anyone has recommendations re make etc.

I saw it and didn`t it look like a washing up bowl!!!
Think you might be rather sick if you ate too much of that cheesecake though

I have made this cheesecake. I think it is Nigella at her worst (and I am a fan). Mine was undercooked to be fair but it is very rich and cloying. And the ingredients cost £££s. Think very carefully before you make this - if only for your health!

The springform she used is available on Amazon, just search for silicone springform. It has a ceramic base, supposed to be better heat conductor than the same ones with glass bases.

There's a brilliant recipe for cheesecake in the Come Dine With Me cookbook. (yes, really.) NO cooking required and £££s cheaper than Nigella's...

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/10/2010 12:19

Oh NO Dorothy - I was planning to make that this weekend (love peanutty salty stuff)

MimieD · 01/10/2010 12:31

Mmmm, rich and cloying...just the way I like my cheesecake Grin. I guess in that case a little will go a long way and I can make it for the large friends-get together in a couple of weeks time! None of them would mind a few extra calories that day...

Gail19 · 01/10/2010 12:56

Thanks Mimie, I thought I'd found it on Lakeland but it was completely different, that is definitely it. And I agree, rich and cloying is how I'm expecting this to be! Looking forward to trying it out, chocolate, peanut butter & cheesecake - what could possible go wrong?

BessieBoots is that cheesecake one which uses a jelly to set it? I have a lemon one made in that way and it is very nice. It has a ginger biscuit base. Can you tell me what the recipe is called and I can look for it on line or copy the ingredients down in the bookshop.

getorf - can thoroughly recommend humminbird bakery cookbook peanut butter and choc chip cookies

also these look rather good

Nigellas recipes in my opinion are a bit hit and miss. Plus book your slot at the enarest cardiace unit if you eat that cheesecake, (according to the Times)

BessieBoots · 01/10/2010 15:09

No, it's one with green and black choc in it. Basically- Make a bisuit base, put in fridge, mix 250g philly, 250g mascarpone, 150g cream, and 2 large melted bars of the large chocolate orange (Mayan I think it's called) green and black's. pour it in the base, fridge overnight. Yum!

Smash09 · 03/10/2010 14:50

Yum. I'm definately trying it!

I really like the sound of this cheesecake but was also put off by the cost of ingredients, when things need 6 eggs and 2 tubs of cheese it really bumps the price up.
