Need quantities for Blackberry Ice cream

I made a note of the ingredients for this but there were no quantities listed.
I'm sure it will be easy but dont want to spend all that time getting it wrong.

Does anyone recognise the ingredients and can help me out please?

"Push them through a seive; make a syrup by boiling with sugar and a litle water; fold in floppy whipped cream (or half greek yog).
Freeze, beat after 1hr and again after 1 hr."

Hope someone can help. TIA

Make it to taste, but remember that frozen foods need to be sweeter and stronger than room-temp.

I would use a Blackcurrant recipe.

Thanks for the advice meltedmarsbars. Ok I shall go for it this afternoon. Off to buy the cream now.

chocoholic Will let you know if how I get on. Have never made ice cream before so have no idea, really.

I have had lots of blackberries but most have hard bits in the middle so seiving sounds good.

I make a blackcurrant one that is a mousse when fresh then freezes to make an icecream.

Fruit, purreed and sieved, sugar, egg whites and cream.

Well, ice cream is made now.

I used 1lb frozen blackberries, warmed them up then put them through the sieve. Boiled it up with 6 tablespoons sugar(!)

When cool I added 300ml of whipped double cream into which I added 300ml of yoghurt after the cream stiffened. Folded it in gently and left it in the freezer.

I have whisked it after the first hour and beaten it with a wooden spoon after the 2nd hr. Its a lovely colour and it tastes really creamy and very sweet. So,will only be serving small portions, of course. Wink
Its my first ever home made ice cream.

Its a Mrs Beeton one, can't find it online...

Well done on the first home-made icecream - beats anything shop-bought, doesn't it!

It certainly does Melted and of course I had to check it again this morning Grin

Decided to put it into little tubs so we dont eat too much in one go.
