No suggestions here (I think you can stuff it - the marrow I mean)

But DD came over to be in the supermarket and said there's a watermelon over there but it's shaped like a cucumber....it was a marrow

Compost it

vegetable curry?
marrow and ginger jam?
cooked and pureed, you can add small amounts to chocolate cake, makes it moist.
Soup, blended with other veg.

Delia Smith, in her original cookery course (book) has a lovely recipe for marrow with tomato, onions and basil. Can anyone find it online as I haven't time to copy it out.

peel it, cut it in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds in each channel and then either cut it into slices and boil it for a few minutes drain well and toss in butter and black pepper or stuff the chanels with cooked minced beef, lamb chicken whatever (same sauce as for bolognaise, shepherds pie etc) shove it in the over for about half an hour until marrow cooked thru. Serve with mash.
Nursery food really. Nice tho

When my niece was little someone from the allotments gave my sister one. My niece put a blanket round it, held it like a baby, and for about a week afterwards it was know as Marrow-Anne.

Well, you did ask.

take out seeds and roast with olive oil and any herbs/spices you think might work

Appears to be an outbreak of marrows!!

Nik72 · 06/09/2005 11:58

Oh bother, it's in food last week.

I just use them like I would courgettes and the like. I make a lot of veggie bolognaises and I chop up the veg into very small pieces and fry up with the soya mince. They're pretty testeless really so they take on the taste of the sauce they're cooked in.

I spose they'd also actually taste ok if you sliced them and griddled/barbequed them with a brushing of oil as courgettes always taste much nicer done like this.

I'd also have a go cutting them into chunks and roasting them with a load of other veggies.
