DS doesn't like dried fruit. Can you make teacakes without it or not?

No Blush, I usually do the fruit batter (dough?) and put in what I fancy. DD1 does the mixing, her favorite, and mine, fresh raspberries (not washed) and chocolate chips (the american one you use for making cookies).

How do you make the batter/dough?

Teacakes don't have fruit in. They are simply bread buns. Currant teacakes have currants in. Confused
Oh this is one of those regional differences isn't it?

200 g of flour
1/2 bag of dry yeast
3 eggs
125 g of butter
125g of brown sugar
125g of yogurt (set french type)
a pinch of baking soda
170 C for about 50 min, till knife just come about dry (otherwise it is too dry)

About a (big) handfull of fruits or nuts or seeds... and a (big) handfull of choc chips or improvise

It is from a french reciepe though, I thing in the UK you use golden syrop instead of sugar and no yogurt (more butter?).
