Can i just blitz granulated sugar in food processor and it becomes caster sugar? Confused

Has anyone actually tried this?

Or have I got to drag 4 DCs to the blahdy supermarkey to buy one thing? Gah.

I've done it but go easy or you will end up with powdered sugar!

I've often just used granulated sugar in place of caster sugar if you don't mind a slightly rougher texture in whatever it is you're baking.

Thanks both.

It's pear flapjacks so I'm guessing rough texture may be quite pleasant?

In flapjacks granulated will be fine.

I think caster is better in cakes and light things but in something textured like flapjacks granulated is perfect.

Pear flapjacks sound good.

My cookery teacher used to blitz granulated sugar in the 70's when blenders were exotic and rare (in Lincolnshire).
