chop them in half, fry them with onion, add 2 whisked up eggs to make an omelet and top with cheese.

put them in a rice salad with cucumber chunks and pepper.
Cut them in half and put them on top of a pizza base spread with pesto and add mozarella (that's particularly yummy)
Do that thing they have on the Philadelphia Cheese advert at the moment - pasta, philly and cherry toms and something else that I can't remember!

you can "sun-blush" them yourself by halving them and putting them cut side up in a dish and sprinling with a little salt. Then you put them in a very very low oven - lowest setting possible - overnight or for 5-6 hours. You can keep them in a jar with olive oil if you dont want to use them immediately.

cheese and tomatoe toasties!

yummy!

or just eat them.... i pick at them as if they are sweeties.... YUMMY!

Hattie05 · 29/08/2005 17:59

Sandwich or pitta fillers.

Grilled on bread with cheese.

Topping for all sorts of dishes e.g tuna pasta bake, Shepherds pie, cauliflower cheese ...

We made pizza's with them today.

Can you tell we've grown tomatoes too?

Basially every meal i cook, i think about how can i chuck some tomatoes into this?

Roughly chop up onions and butternut squash. Place onions, squash and cherry tomatoes in a large roasting dish with some rosemary or basil, black pepper and whole cloves of garlic.

Roast until soft and delicious. Use as a pasta sauce, or with chops or chicken breasts.

oh I love them!! We buy a punnet every week. We're also growing them but we only get one at a time
cheese and tomato omelete
jkt pots with cheese, beans and cherry toms
if they are going to go too soft before you can use them you could cut them in half, put them in a pan with a tablespoon of water, dried basil, and make a tom sauce which you can them freeze or use immediately with pasta-yummy!

Pinotmum · 29/08/2005 19:07

Chop up some red onion or spring onions, mozzarella cheese, olive oil, add whole toms - quick side salad.

Same idea as Trefusis but I don't whizz them up - just bung straight on top of pasta - yum.

Good idea - I hadn't even thought that DD might like it - will have to give it a go now.
You're an inspiration, bless you.

emily05 · 31/08/2005 16:58

alibubbles - can I ask, do you chop that garlic up and the herbs? really small?

how long in the oven? (estimate)

Thanks (you can tell I am a novice!!

another idea , similar to Hausfraus pasta salad further down , but served hot , is to ALSO add some finely chopped chili , a little sugar & a tin of white crab meat to the frying mixture and serve.
